Casa Batlló is a building restored by Antoni Gaudí and Josep Maria Jujol, built in the year 1877 and remodelled in the years 1905–1907; located at 43, Passeig de Gràcia (Passeig is Catalan for promenade or avenue), in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia.
What To Do:
Buy a ticket and explore the house. Look out for small details and ingenious ideas Gaudí had to bring natural ventilation and lighting into the home. On a good spring afternoon, it would be nice to walk outside the house and get a glimpse of other buildings and structures within the vicinity.
Walk the whole of Ramblas, see the small shops and how the street transforms into a totally different personality at night – alive with performers, artists.. really is no place like it.
Where To Eat:
Ramblas is filled with different eateries from fast food places to authentic tapas-serving restaurants.
Where To Stay:
Las Ramblas is where you’ll find a lot of hotels in the city. A word of warning for light sleepers though – the street is alive 24/7 and you might not find your good night’s sleep. Book in advance though, specially during spring and summer.
