Warsaw is the capital of the Republic of Poland and the largest city of this country. From its war-torn years, Warsaw has developed and is now experiencing an economic boom. Many of the historic streets, buildings, and churches were restored to their original form.
What To Do:
Though considered to be a fairly young city, Warsaw has many tourist attractions. Each borough (town or village) has something to offer to everyone.
Roam in the Old Town
It’s the oldest part of Warsaw. It was founded at the turn of the XIII century, and its streets made a regular “chessboard like” pattern. The Old Town complex, as a whole, is placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. While there, look for the Royal Castle, King Sigismund’s Column, Market Square, and the Barbican.
Check out both the oldest and biggest public parks
Ogród Saski is considered to be the oldest public park and it’s located within ten minutes’ walk from the Old Town.
Łazienki Park is considered not only as the biggest but also the most beautiful public park. Look for it further south, on the Royal Route, about three kilometers from the Warsaw Old Town.
Experience the White Fleet (Biała Flota) boat trips on the Vistula River
The boat operates daily from 1st May to the end of September, every 90 minutes. The first trip is at 9.30 A.M.
